News & Announcements

School is back in session on Tuesday

Based on Monday's reports concerning the fire at the site on Independence Parkway, La Porte ISD plans to hold school, as usual, Tuesday, March 19, with regular start times and transportation routines. As you know, the safety of students and staff is our top priority, and we have continued to work closely with emergency management officials to monitor the situation. As of this morning, the shelter-in-place for the City of Deer Park was lifted, and Highway 225 was re-opened. Wind information and air quality readings were also stable throughout the day. Again, we are grateful to the first responders and other individuals who are working to ensure the safety of our community. We look forward to seeing you Tuesday. Please click on the headline to learn more about the Air Quality Index and how it is measured.
